Move beyond casual snapshots and begin making photographs with intention. In this 2-hour, hands-on, online or in-person workshop, founder Jim Zulakis guides you through the essential principles of strong visual storytelling using your iPhone.
You’ll explore core composition techniques—including the rule of thirds, framing, and balance—while learning how perspective shapes meaning. These foundational practices apply to any camera or mobile device and will sharpen how you see and compose images in any context.
From there, the course goes deeper into the iPhone itself—its camera settings, shooting modes, and built-in editing tools. You’ll learn how to focus and adjust exposure with precision, use portrait mode effectively, understand lens choices, and make the most of iOS features and apps designed to elevate your photography.
Through practical exercises, you’ll experiment with creative angles and points of view, discovering how to create more dynamic and expressive images.
Then, we turn to editing. Using the iOS Photos app, you’ll refine your images through thoughtful cropping, straightening, and subtle adjustments to light and color—enhancing without overworking.
By the end, you’ll see more clearly, shoot more deliberately, and create images that feel composed, intentional, and alive.
Finally, we'll look at a few other apps and devices that can add to your photographer's toolbox for even more professional results.
