The Brothers Costa: An Oral History of Love, Resilience, and Purpose
The Brothers Costa is a deeply human oral history film capturing an intimate conversation with Father Gabriel Costa, PhD, and Gerard Costa, PhD. Edited down from over four hours of thoughtful dialogue, the project reveals how love, resilience, and shared adversity shaped two brothers from Hoboken, New Jersey into lives of service, intellect, and compassion. Their often humor-filled stories move beyond biography to celebrate how adversity can be transformed into purpose, service, and love.

Coco's Cider Craft: From Apples to Art
In the foothills of Vermont’s Champlain Valley, Coco Dupont turns apple season into a kind of art. What begins as a simple gathering of family, friends, and fallen fruit becomes a sensory exploration of taste, patience, and process. "Coco’s Cider Craft: From Apples to Art" is a short documentary that captures her deep affection for nature, her fascination with fermentation, and her delight in transforming the ordinary into something quietly extraordinary.
Filmed over a crisp October weekend in Charlotte, Vermont, the story follows Coco through every stage of her craft—from selecting apples of every shape and pedigree, to pressing, fermenting, and tasting the final golden pour. Her narration weaves insight and humor with the tactile rhythms of work: the hum of the press, the clink of glass carboys, the steady patience of waiting for natural yeast to do its work.
What emerges is more than a portrait of homemade cider; it’s a meditation on creativity itself—how curiosity, imperfection, and persistence combine to make something both personal and shareable. The film honors the small rituals that connect us to the land and to one another: a brother lending a hand, a friend operating the press, the sweet chaos of bees and apples and laughter.
As with much of Zulakis Creative’s documentary work, "Coco’s Cider Craft" celebrates craft as character. It reminds us that art can rise from the everyday—from the scent of ripened apples, the pulse of Vermont’s autumn light, and the ancient, bubbling music of transformation.

Oscar Party Videos
For years, we threw an annual Oscar bash that became a red carpet tradition among friends—complete with themed food, a fancy brochure, prizes for the most correct guesses of Oscar winners, and homemade video invites. We began making the videos in 2013, inspired by the silent film The Artist, and kept the tradition alive right up until the pandemic. One legendary party even caught the attention of The Bergen Record, which featured photos and a video by Pulitzer Prize-winner Thomas E. Franklin. He captured us in our glory, proudly presenting a tray of “Life of Pot Pies”—a savory spoof on Life of Pi—recipe and all.

Histories - A Mother's Oral History
This marked the inception of our inaugural oral history endeavor – a heartfelt tribute to our beloved mother, Athenoula. Her narratives, etched vividly in my memory since childhood, have always been a tapestry of rich and intricate details. Armed with cameras and an unwavering commitment, we embarked on a journey to capture her life story.
As we sat down with her, our mission was clear: to start at the very beginning, tracing the contours of her earliest memories. Yet, it was her recollections of the harrowing Nazi occupation of Greece during World War II that proved particularly captivating. In the end, our collective effort yielded a series of four 45-minute videos, each a chapter in her remarkable tale: "Childhood," "Surviving WWII," "War Bride," and "A New Life and Home."

My Day with Bob Dylan
In 1975, after performing at Gerdie's Folk City in Greenwich Village, NYC, Frank Dapuzzo found himself at a stoplight on the corner of LaGuardia Place and 3rd Street. There, he spotted a disheveled man, none other than Bob Dylan, the "generation poet." Frank rolled down his window and introduced himself, marking the beginning of a captivating day and night with the iconic musician.
Frank's personal account revisits the locations of their eventful day and night: the bars they frequented, their conversations, the streets they strolled, the intriguing characters they encountered, the music they played, and the fleeting friendship they forged on that warm summer day in Greenwich Village.
The accompanying soundtrack showcases Frank's recent recording of Dylan's legendary classic, "Positively 4th Street." Special thanks go to the talented lyricist and songwriting partner, June Baxter, for her photograph capturing Frank at the piano just before the end credits.
